Abstract

The paper deals with the health service during the Greek civil war period. The aim of the paper is to show the role and importance of the Democratic Greek Army during the period 1946-1949. It presents the origins of the partisan health service and then characterizes the establishment of hospitals and the training of medical personnel. The article uses the method of critical analysis of the literature on the subject and available historical documents.
